The Yuthok Nyingthig is the unique spiritual tradition of Tibetan Medicine, a complete cycle of Vajrayana Buddhist practice containing essential meditations, transformative inner yogas, practices to cultivate healing abilities, and benefitting rituals. Created by Yuthok Yonten Gonpo, the father of Tibetan Medicine, it is known for its concise, accessible methods and its nonsectarian approach — it is perfect for modern, busy people. Practicing the Yuthok Nyingthig improves health and longevity, enhances compassion and wisdom, and ultimately brings spiritual liberation.
The Yuthok Nyingthig has been kept secret for most of its history — only recently has it been taught more openly, thanks to the kindness of Dr. Nida Chenagtsang and his teachers.
The Ngondro or 'preliminary practices' serves as the entrance to the entire Yuthok Nyingthig path, purifying the body, energy, and mind and laying the foundation for all further practices.
In this daylong teaching, Dr. Tenzin and Jason Whitlow will offer an introduction to the Yuthok Nyingthig Ngondro, giving thorough instruction on each of its component practices, along with advice on how to engage the Ngondro in daily practice or in retreat.
This teaching is open to everyone. It is recommended for practitioners new to the Yuthok Nyingthig who wish to attend the September 12–19 Ngondro 7-Day Retreat, or for anyone interested to learn more about the Yuthok Nyingthig or Vajrayana Buddhist practice in general.
