FTTM 1.1

Introduction to Tibetan Medicine & the Four Tantras

Offered March 25–26, 2017

Theory Part 1 of 4
In-person or Online

In this module we will study the fundamentals of Tibetan language and the origins, history, schools, and contemporary practice of TTM. We will explore essential concepts including interdependent connection (tendrel), cause and effect (karma), and continuous authentic education (tantra), and will learn how the building blocks of the five elements form our body, energy, mind, and the world around us.

We will then embark on our study of the Four Medical Tantras, the root texts of TTM, with their mnemonic system of illustrated trees. We will particularly focus on the Root Tantra, of which it is said “If you understand the Root Tantra well, you understand all of Tibetan Medicine”.

Pending approval, California Acupuncture Board CEUs and NCCAOM PDA Points will be offered to licensed acupuncturists upon completion of this module.
